A suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a man as part of a murder investigation in North Lanarkshire.
The body of John McMonigle, 45, was found within a property in Glenhove Road, Cumbernauld, at about 9.20am on Wednesday.
Police Scotland said Mr McMonigle had sustained "serious injuries" and launched a murder probe following a post-mortem examination.
In an update on Friday morning, the force said a 37-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the death.
Detective Chief Inspector Laura Young, senior investigating officer from the Major Investigation Team, said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr McMonigle's family at what is an extremely difficult time for them.
"They are being supported by specially trained officers and have asked for their privacy to be respected."
