Two teenagers die after car crashes into wooded area in Essex

Two teenagers have died after a car crashed off a road and into a wooded area.

Officers were called to the single-vehicle collision near Theydon Bois shortly after 10.40pm on Sunday, Essex Police said.

The force said it had been reported that a car had left the B172 and entered a wooded area.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy, and a passenger, a 19-year-old man, died despite the efforts of ambulance first responders, police said.

Police are appealing for witnesses who were travelling along the B172 or Coppice Row around the time of the incident and who may have seen the vehicle beforehand, or who captured footage that could help the investigation.
