The Hundred 2026 permutations: Who needs what to qualify for final stages of men's and women's competitions?

We are into crunch time in the 2026 edition of The Hundred, with knockout spots up for grabs in the men's and women's competitions. But who will claim them, and who needs what?

The men's and women's sides that finish first in their respective tables after the eight group games secure direct qualification to the finals at Lord's on Sunday August 16.

The teams coming second and third will meet in the eliminators at The Kia Oval on Friday August 14, with the winners of those matches then also making the final.

Here is the state of play as the league phase enters its final stages...

Men's competition

Every team has now played at least six games, with elimination already confirmed for London Spirit, Birmingham Phoenix and Southern Brave.

Trent Rockets guaranteed qualification for the latter stages on Saturday as they surged four points clear at the top of the table on 24 points with a sixth victory in seven against MI London.

A win from their final group match against Brave on Monday will seal automatic qualification for the final.

It then gets complicated and crowded in the battle for the final two spots that would secure a spot in the eliminator.

SunRisers Leeds moved into second on net run-rate with their dominant win over Phoenix on Friday night, but are level on 16 points with MI London, Welsh Fire and Manchester Super Giants. The last of those four sides eliminated Brave with a 10-run win on Saturday.

Fire and SunRisers still have two games to play and face each other at Headingley on Sunday meaning a win for either would be crucial in the race to the eliminator.

MI London will most likely need to beat bottom-placed Phoenix at Edgbaston on Wednesday to maintain any chance of reaching Friday's eliminator.

Super Giants' last group game is also a must-win for their chances of making the top three when they play SunRisers on Tuesday at Emirates Old Trafford.

Women's competition

Trent Rockets top the table on 24 points and clinched qualification for the knockouts after beating already-eliminated MI London by nine wickets on Saturday.

Victory for them in their final group match against second-placed Southern Brave would secure automatic qualification for the final.

Brave, who missed the chance to go level on points with Rockets after a 27-run defeat by Manchester Super Giants on Saturday, would need a comprehensive victory at Trent Bridge to overtake them and look more likely to play in the eliminator.

Super Giants look the most likely to face them after their win at the Utilita Bowl on Saturday gave them a six-point cushion in third over SunRisers Leeds.

SunRisers do have a game in hand, which is their match against Welsh Fire on Sunday.

Both of those teams are level on 12 points with two games to play so defeat for either will likely end their chances of reaching the knockout stages.

Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit and MI London, are all eliminated.
