Fame - based on the iconic 1980 phenomenal pop culture film, the story follows the final class of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts through their struggles, fears and triumph as they navigate the worlds of music, drama and dance. See the stars of the future light up the sky like a flame this summer! Conceived and developed by David De Silva from the book by Jose Fernandez, the show features lyrics by Jacques Levy, music by Steve Margoshes, title song "Fame" written by Dean Pitchford and Michael Gore.
The Alexandra Stage Experience started in 2003 and has transformed the lives and careers of over 2,000 members of the cast, and the crew who work behind the scenes. All the shows have been musical, and large scale performances, and have featured over the years, 'Wicked' start Liam Doyle and even comedian Joe Lycett.
Young talent will took The Alexandra stage with a full-scale production of this smash-hit musical, with its bittersweet and uplifting story and a score of unforgettable songs including 'Out Here On My Own', 'These Are My Children', 'Let’s Play A Love Scene 'and of course the famous theme song 'Fame'.
This year's young talented featured Mason Daw as Nick, Freya Hancox as Serena, Lousi Good as Joe Bradley Mutizwa as Tyron, Laura Byran as Carmen and Jasmin Gill as Iris, with an amazing supporting cast and full company ensemble.
The experience of being involved in the Stage Experience changes lives. Some of the young people you will see in stage will have never been on one before, some may never have even been to a theatre before. A whirlwind of learning, and being part of the experience of being a commercial stage show at a level required on a commercial theatre in the city centre.
Clearly, the work, passion, enjoyment and experience paid more than dividends as the cast and crew of the first night delivered and then some. You can see thier journey on the dedicated Alexandra Stage Experience Facebook Page
