The Crystal Maze returns - with two new characters!

In case you've been living in a maze (ha ha!) classic 90s show, The Crystal Maze, will return to our screens in just a couple of weeks time with a celebrity special for Stand Up To Cancer.

Entertainment website, Digital Spy, has reveald that funnyman, Adam Buxton, and BAFTA award-winning actress, Jessica Hynes, will feature as two new characters in the new series, hosted by Richard Ayoade.

Adam will take on the role of Jarhead (a modern Mumsy) in the Futuristic Zone. His game sees one player answer a trio of riddles, which if correctly solved, will allow Jarhead to use his mind to release an all-important crystal for the team.

Meanwhile, Spaced and W1A star Jessica Hynes, AKA The Knight, will be seen defending the realm of the Medieval Zone.

The series sees teams of five contestants navigate the Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Futuristic zones before facing the fans in the iconic Crystal Dome.

The new series of The Crystal Maze kicks off on Friday, June 23 at 9pm on Channel 4.

The first team taking on the maze is a celebrity line-up including Strictly Come Dancing champion Ore Oduba, Vicky Pattison, The Last Leg's Alex Brooker, Louie Spence, and TOWIE's Lydia Bright, raising funds for Stand Up To Cancer.

To the Crystal Dome!
