Dudley Kindness Awards 2021
This year Dudley CVS felt it was important to celebrate the community spirit, kindness and compassion that's been shown during the Covid-19 pandemic.
With this in mind, their annual awards ceremony this year will be the Dudley Kindness Awards and will encourage and nurture kindness by promoting both National Kindness Day and Random Act of Kindness Day.
The awards won't solely focus on the Covid effort but celebrate all the great volunteering efforts in communities around the borough - this is about recognising individuals, employees and groups from the voluntary, community and faith sector, statutory services and business; celebrating our local heroes.
A local young volunteer, via the 'Dudley Young Health Champions Project' has developed a kindness concept, originally related to bereavement, called "Ask If I'm Really OK?"
We will be promoting this at our awards, sponsoring the volunteer including having badges produced and asking people to wear them with the idea of encouraging others to talk about how they are feeling. There will be a special 'Ask If I'm Really OK' award to help celebrate volunteers who have supported people with their mental well-being.
Dudley CVS want YOU to nominate the selfless helpers, fantastic neighbours, friendly shoppers, tech enablers, volunteer drivers, brilliant businesses, faithful givers, expert tea makers, supportive listeners, young believers, joyful doers, widest smilers and community dreamers. The people who have really made a difference to YOUR life over the last 18 months.
