Stourbridge FC Face Historic FA Cup Tie At Wycombe Wanderers

Black Country Radio is to broadcast live commentary of Stourbridge’s historic FA Cup tie at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

The Glassboys are playing in the third round for the first time in their history having shocked League One side Northampton Town, winning 1-0 in the second round last month.

Stourbridge are the lowest ranked club left in the competition, but intend to rise to the challenge when they travel to Buckinghamshire at the weekend. Sports Editor, Roy Felstead, said:

“This is arguably the biggest moment in more than 140 years of Stourbridge Football Club’s history. Whilst the third round could have provided them with a memorable clash against the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, or a local side such as Wolves or West Brom, the Glassboys have already proved they can beat a League One side in Northampton.

“With Wycombe being a division below Northampton, Stourbridge fans will be going there with a genuine feeling that, although the odds maybe stacked against them, they are capable of getting a result.

“They have a very impressive record of beating teams much higher up than them, so we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that they can pull off another shock on Saturday,”

The Glassboys were issued 2,000 tickets for the cup clash, all of which have sold out in record time.

If you missed out on tickets, Black Country Radio will be providing live commentary of the full match in Black Country Sport from 2 o’clock on Saturday. You can tune in on 102.5 FM across the Black Country, DAB across Birmingham or anywhere via Radioplayer, available online and on phones and tablets.
