He will challenge sitting MP James Morris, when the general election is called later this year.

In the forthcoming election this area will be affected by constituency boundary changes and be renamed to Halesowen, loosing the town of Rowley Regis and taking on more of the Halesowen area.

In the last general election Mr Morris claimed a majority of 60% of the vote, with 42% of the electorate turning out to vote. Mr Priest, who has represented Cradley and Wollescote ward on Dudley Council since August 2023, said:

“It’s time to stop the pantomime. I’m ready for the rematch with James here in Halesowen to make sure our community, and our country, gets the fair deal we deserve.”
