Man Killed In Halesowen Hit And Run

The road has been sealed by police forensic teams.

A man has been killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash in Halesowen.

Police are appealing for a driver involved in a fatal non-stop collision on Cherry Street, just off the stourbridge road, to come forward.

At around 12:15am this morning, a dark coloured hatchback was involved in a collision with a pedestrian who suffered fatal injuries.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff the 34-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead shortly after.

An investigation is underway to establish what has happened. The road is currently closed while specialist officers examine the scene. Detective Superintendent Tom Chisholm from Force CID said:

"We have already spoken to a number of witnesses who were at the scene. But we urgently need to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened or has any information who hasn’t yet spoken to us.

"Our thoughts remain with the family of the man who lost his life and specialist officers are supporting them at this difficult time."

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101
