A parking lay-by is to be created on a busy Stourbridge road to alleviate concerns about dangers caused by on-street parking.
The section along The Broadway will have enough room for eight vehicles. It comes after a number of complaints about on-street parking causing obstructions to traffic and increasing the risk of accidents. Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environmental, highways and street services, said:
"I have received a large number of complaints about a number of issues along the Broadway which do need to be addressed as and when funding becomes available.
"But the problems with on-street parking by Gig Mill Primary School not only causes problems at school times, but has also caused obstruction to the safe free flow of traffic.
"I have listened to what residents and parents have said and hopefully the creation of this additional parking area will help to alleviate some of the problems."
Work is expected to start in April.
