A group of travellers have set up camp on a football pitch in Dudley.

Caravans arrived at the Lister Road site on Saturday. Alan Lunt, Dudley Council's strategic director for place, said:

“We have visited the site, along with the police, to speak with them and received assurances they will be moving on by the weekend. However the necessary measures will be taken to move them on should they not depart."

“In the meantime, we will work with the travellers to try and minimise disruption and disturbance to residents of the surrounding areas.”
