Spring is in the air with green waste collections starting across the borough later this month.
Residents will get their first collection of the year between Monday 29 March and Friday 9 April and are being encouraged to check their calendar for more details.
Despite the pandemic, contingency planning and increased staffing levels mean that the green waste collection is currently planned to run as normal. Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member responsible for waste care, said:
"I’m so pleased that we are once again offering people their green bin collection, I know it is a service that is valued by many of our residents especially as the weather improves and we all get out in our gardens once again.
"On behalf of the crews, I’d like to say thank you for the support and understanding our residents have shown over the last year with all collections. The pandemic has thrown us huge operational challenges, but I am incredibly proud and grateful of the hard work the teams have put into providing this vital service to the people of Dudley borough.
"To find out when their next scheduled collections people can visit mapping.dudley.gov.uk and enter their postcode for confirmation of their next collection date."
People are still encouraged to keep composting. To allow all residents to receive the service, unfortunately side waste - extra waste left by the side of bins - cannot be collected by crews.
