A Black Country couple will be saying ‘I do’ after winning a free wedding at Priory Hall’s latest open day
Dudley Council has provided one lucky couple, Paul Blakemore and Emily Williams, with a wedding at the hugely popular venue through a free prize draw held at the open day event on Saturday March 12th.
Couples put their names into a box to win the wedding, valued at over £350. The winning couple are only required to pay the statutory notice fee of £35 each at their local register office. The draw was made by the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Steve Waltho.
Councillor Judy Foster, cabinet member for corporate and customer services, said:
“Our wedding open day attracts couples from across the borough eager to visit our beautiful Priory Hall venue, pick up tips and get inspiration for their big day.
"This year, one more lucky couple has gone home with more than just information, receiving a free wedding at our grade II-Iisted venue.”
Information on ceremony cars, wedding cakes, balloons, photographers, bridal wear, suit hire, flowers and much more were also on offer from the various exhibitors at the event while registrars were on hand to answer questions and offer help and advice.
A second wedding open day, complete with a win a wedding competition will be held at the newly refurbished Thomas Robinson Buildings on Saturday 19th March. The building now houses the registry office for Stourbridge and the winning couple will receive a free ceremony in the venue’s Wollescote Suite.
