Bornean orangutan, Jazz, had a pile of pink parcels waiting for her as she celebrated her 27th birthday yesterday.
The gorgeous primate soon tucked in to fruit and veg treats hidden inside the boxes and took the sheet they were laid out on to make her own birthday outfit.
Her seven-year-old daughter, Sprout, also gave her mum a helping hand to unwrap some of the presents. Senior Primate Keeper Sian-Leigh Simner said:
“Jazz enjoyed ripping open the boxes to find her birthday breakfast including carrots, celery, and apples.
“She loves her food and also likes putting a sheet over her head. In the wild orangutans cover their heads with large leaves to shelter from the rain so visitors will very often see her hiding under sheets, bedding and sacks.”
